Gingingdlovu Uniforms
In 2006 a CESLA school uniform project was initiated, with the assistance of Tricia Meyer and a women's sewing group from larger Derby, Kansas area church of Latter Day Saints. Tricia Meyer started this sewing project with her church's sewing group after finding out from CESLA about the desperate need of 50 AIDS orphans in Ginginglovu, in KwaZulu-Natal province. This sewing group bought supplies, sewed nearly 200 garments and mailed the completed uniforms to South Africa so that 50 AIDS orphans from Gingingdlovu could begin the 2007 school term.

Obanjeni Uniforms
In 2007 this same group is taking on the daunting task of sewing many of the school uniforms for AIDS orphans in Obanjeni, KwaZulu-Natal. However, this has become such a major task for a small sewing circle of dedicated ladies, we are taking donations to so that a number of the uniforms will be sewn in South Africa. This has the additional benefit of providing income for rural providers who we have identified as able to sew school uniforms.

Eshowe Uniforms
In November 2007 we were taken to the Mpumaze primary school by "Aurelia" the founder of the Eshowe OVC feeding-station. This school was described as containing the poorest of the poor in this area, and far enough away from the feeding station that many of the kids survive on 3 to 4 meals a week. In a school that is faling apart we found over 1000 students, 900 who needed school uniforms to attend the following school year. In many cases caregivers have to decide on saving fro a second-hand uniform or eating. CESLA is striving to supply these 900 uniforms in 2008!

Gelukwaarts Uniforms
Gelukwarrts is a very rural "Farm School" that has a dedicated Headmaster "Danie Wilkens"
who has identified 160 OVC's who are in desperate need of uniforms. The Headmaster allows these learners to attend school without the State required uniforms, however the stigma attached to learners who atend school without a uniform is as being "branded" with the Scarlet Letters - AIDS
